Regional Impacts Report Released 
With world attention focusing on international climate talks in Bali, the Pew Center on Global Climate Change releases a new report detailing significant impacts of climate change already occurring in the United States.
The report, "Regional Impacts of Climate Change: Four Case Studies in the United States," provides information about impacts in specific regions of the U.S. The report focuses on the following four regions:
  • Midwestern Cities
  • Western U.S.
  • Gulf Coast
  • Chesapeake Bay

Pew Center to Release Report in Bali

The Pew Center's Climate Dialogue at Pocantico recommends a post-2012 framework integrating different types of mitigation commitments.  A new report, Towards an Integrated Multi-Track Climate Framework, builds on the Pocantico recommendations.

Midwestern Regional Greenhouse Gas Reduction Accord Established
Under the Accord, six states and one Canadian province agree to establish emissions reduction targets and to develop a multi-sector cap-and-trade system to help meet those targets. (November 15, 2007)
Montana Joins the Western Climate Initiative
Among a number of climate initiatives announced by Governor Brian Schweitzer was one that will make Montana the seventh U.S. state to join the Western Climate Initiative. (November 19, 2007)
